Allen brings a wealth of professional skills and experience to the Ebb Tide Team. He was initially hired as a group facilitator and transitioned into professional development and community relations. He currently serves in building synergistic relationships with local professionals, treatment centers and community organizations, to address the escalating addictions crisis locally as well as on a national basis. As person in long-term recovery, Allen is well known in the addictions recovery community. His professional career began shortly after moving to West Palm Beach, in 1991 as a nursing support counselor at CARP, Inc. Detox (a publicly funded treatment center) and transitioned into a counseling position there after completing the Chemical Dependency Training Program at South Florida Summer Institute on Chemical Dependency (PBCC). Later, Allen worked as a Behavioral Health Tech on the residential units while completing the Addictions Professional Training Institute in counseling theories and practice at the at the Hanley Hazelden Center, and served briefly as a family program associate facilitator. He was later recruited as an Admissions Specialist at Hanley, where years later, he worked in the same capacity at the Life of Purpose Treatment Program on the FAU campus in Boca Raton, FL. In his continued quest for knowledge, Allen completed his National Certification Recovery Coach (NCRC-I) at the Addictions Academy in Miami, FL in 2015 and continues to attend a wealth of seminars and educational events in the Substance Use Disorder Field. He currently serves as a volunteer with the Palm Beach Coalition on Substance Awareness Coalition, supporting education and recovery efforts in local communities, is a member of the Jupiter Police Opioid Task Force, and serves as a Prayer Chaplain at Unity of the Palm Beaches.
